Position Announcement

The Coulter Faculty Center at Western Carolina University seeks applicants for the following position (Starting date: from January 2009. Application closing date: Until position is filled):

Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Western Carolina University.
Myron L. Coulter Endowed Distinguished Professor
Position description: Five-year renewable term senior faculty appointment in teaching, program development, and research. Incumbent will be situated in the University’s Coulter Faculty Center and teach in a University department appropriate to scholarly background. Duties include: editing the international online SoTL journal, MountainRise; securing program sponsorship; scholarly production; University representation in external SoTL entities; faculty leadership in SoTL; and integration of SoTL initiatives with the University’s mission and Quality Enhancement Plan.

Qualifications: Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree from regionally accredited institution; national recognition; qualification for rank of full professor; strong track record in teaching, scholarship and program development; demonstrated SoTL leadership. National Prominence, qualifications as full professor, a terminal degree from a regionally accredited institution, successful university teaching experience, a significant record of research and publication in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning as well as leadership in SoTL initiatives.
